Hancock Taps Resource/Phoenix for Sales/Marketing System

San-Rafael, CA-based Resource/Phoenix has added John Hancock Advisers to the list of investment management companies using its Marketing and Rep Sales (M.A.R.S.) system.

John Hancock will use the M.A.R.S. system, version 2.7, at its Boston headquarters and more than 75 sales offices around the country to enhance the performance of its mutual fund and variable annuity sales organizations. Hancock chose the system after reviewing eight other sales force automation systems and bids. The new system will replace services provided by R.R. Donnelley, Saratoga Systems, and Hancock's in-house systems.

"We are excited about our business partnership with John Hancock Advisers," said Bryant Tong, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Resource/Phoenix. "This partnership with one of the industry's leaders further validates the capability and commitment of Resource/Phoenix to deliver innovative and cost-effective software solutions for the financial services industry."

The M.A.R.S. system integrates several facets of sales departments' daily operations including sales tracking, contact management, and fulfillment/inventory tracking -- importing data from clients' transfer agents to assist sales managers, outside wholesalers, and inside marketing support managers.

Other companies who have chosen M.A.R.S. include Aetna Funds, Heritage Asset Management, Washington Mutual, and the Blackrock Funds. Resource/Phoenix is currently working with the Alger Fund and Deutche Bank to integrate M.A.R.S. into their sales and marketing systems.
