What's in a Name?

Delaware Investments is changing the name of the Delaware DelCap Fund to the Delaware Growth Opportunities Fund, to better describe the Fund's investment style.

The fund, managed by Gerald Frey, seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing primarily in midcap growth companies. "The DelCap Fund name did not explain the fund's growth strategy," said J. Chris Meyer, senior vice president, marketing, for Delaware Distributors. "Prospective shareholders who are looking for a mid-cap growth fund could not identify with the DelCap name."

"We believe that changing the fund's name will give prospective shareholders a better idea of what the fund's managers are striving to do and will create more sales opportunities for the fund," Meyer added.

Delaware Investments, headquartered in Philadelphia, PA, has more than $19 billion in mutual fund assets under management, as of December 31, 1999.
