Stilwell Bought Back $323 Million of Shares


Stilwell Financial's board of directors has reinstated and extended the firm's stock repurchase program. The parent of Janus and Berger Funds said it will buy back up to $1 billion worth of shares.

The firm added that it has so far repurchased 7.2 million shares worth $323.3 million.

The Stilwell board also said that the firm will pay a $0.04 per share annual dividend to shareholders on July 31, 2002. The record date is July 15.
