Reichman's appointment increases the size of the Board to seven members. Last week the company named Paul B. Guenther, former president of PaineWebber Group and current Chairman of the New York Philharmonic, to its Board of Directors.

"I have long admired Arnie's achievements and expertise," said Mario J. Gabelli, chairman and chief executive officer of Gabelli Group Capital Partners. "His appointment adds important new depth and asset management operating experience to the Board as it oversees our major investment in Gabelli Asset Management."

Reichman is also the chief executive officer and board member of Outercurve Technologies. Most recently he was a vice president at Citibank. During his 25-year career in the asset management business he spent 16 years at Warburg Pincus, where he was a member of the firm's Executive Operating Committee and chief operating officer. He was also a vice president at J. Aron & Company. He is also on the board of the RBB Fund, and is a former member of the Board of Governors of the Investments Company Institute. He received his B.A. degree from Brooklyn College and his M.B.A. degree from New York University.
