Portfolio Managers Get Strong

Strong Capital Management, the Milwaukee-based mutual fund company, has added two new portfolio managers to its team: Katherine Schapiro, CFA, and Stacey Ho, CFA. Both join Strong from Wells Capital Management, a division of Wells Fargo.

The two will jointly oversee the Strong Overseas Fund, Strong International Fund, and Strong Foreign MajorMarkets Fund. At Wells, they managed the international equity mutual fund and the institutional separate account portfolios.

Schapiro and Ho replace David Lui, who has left Strong. He has managed the funds since 1988.

"We are very pleased to welcome Stacey and Kate to the Strong family. They have a consistent approach that appeals to both individual and institutional investors," stated Richard S. Strong, chairman and cio at the firm.

Meanwhile, over at Wells Fargo, Cynthia Tusan, has taken over the team that Schapiro and Ho have vacated, a spokesperson with the firm told the MutualFundWire.com. Tusan has been with the team since its inception since 1994. The firm will begin a nationwide search to replace Ho and Schapiro.
