Invesco Shakes Up Sales Execs

The changes at Inveco continue in wake of the firms change from a direct-sales to an intermediary-sales driven firm. The most recent shifts in responsibilities are being felt in the firm's institutional business.

Starting in January, INVESCO Institutional's Sam DeKinder is stepping out of his day-to-day role at the firm. The institutional unit is Invesco's unit focusing on the defined benefit pension business. The change in role was made to enable him to focus his energies on "broadening a number of current INVESCO Institutional relationships," according to a statement.

The spokesperson at the firm said that the changes are unrelated to the firm's shift in distribution strategy.

DeKinder's duties will be assumed by Invesco veteran Frank Keeler who takes the title of head of the Sales, Marketing and Relationship Management Group. Keeler reports to John Rogers, chief executive officer and president of INVESCO Institutional.

At the same time the firm announced that Tony Cox will replace Muffet Arroll as head of the firm's newly expanded Financial Institutions Group within Sales, Marketing and Relationship Management. Arroll is moving to AMVESCAP Group Services.

Cox will take responsibility for relationships with all third-party distributors including banks, brokerage firms, and insurance companies.
