Friday, January 25, 2002 TD Waterhouse Names CEO There are moves in the executive suites of TD Waterhouse Group. The brokerage today named Frank J. Petrilli as the first Chief Executive Officer of TD Waterhouse U.S.A. The position is newly-created and has overall responsibility for the firm's U.S. strategic development and growth. In recent weeks the firm also tapped a new marketing chief. Petrilli reports to Ed Clark, president and chief operating officer of TD Bank Financial Group. Tom Bradley, executive vice president, and Peter Mangan, coo of mutual fund business at Waterhouse Institutional will both continue to report to Petrilli and retain their current responsibilities, said a spokesperson. Like Charles Schwab, TD Waterhouse offers an institutional custody service for financial advisors and also direct retail brokerage access. In recent years it has made a strong push to grab some of that business from Schwab. Despite those efforts, it remains well behind the San Francisco giant in terms of market share and fund distribution muscle. Petrilli said he plans to expand the firm's platform to serve "meet the needs of everyone from the most active, independent investor to the investor that requires guidance." The firm also recently tapped Janet Hawkins as an executive vice president to head it marketing efforts. Hawkins replaces Randy Miller who resigned to pursue other opportunities. She was most recently at TD Bank, the brokerage's parent and reports to Petrilli. Printed from: MFWire.com/story.asp?s=27280 Copyright 2002, InvestmentWires, Inc. All Rights Reserved |
