Schwab Capital Taps New VP


Schwab Capital Markets appointed Mark Murphy as senior vice president and head of Institutional Sales for its Boston office. The unit works to provide services to broker-dealer firms and wirehouses. Murphy will also be a member of the firm's Institutional Steering Committee. He will report to James Raphalian, senior vice president and head of Institutional Sales. Murphy's appointment is effective immediately.

Murphy is a veteran of Bear Stearns where he served for 10 years as senior managing director and head of the Boston Office. Previously, Murphy served in various institutional sales and positions at Credit Suisse First Boston and Hambrecht and Quist (now a part of JP Morgan Chase).
