Guardian Upgrades Systems

Guardian Life has tapped Serena Software to provide an enterprise change management solution. The intent of this hire is to improve coordination and efficiency of application development.

Specifically, Serena is supplying the insurer with its ChangeMan DS and ChangeMan ECP which are intended to allow the insurer to synchronize and manage all application changes throughout the development life cycle from a single point of control. Guardian will utilize these new systems to launch new business applications.

"Serena continues to support our vision and strategy of seamless cross-platform integration and central management of software assets through robust solutions that meet our enterprise needs," opined Thomas Mannix, director of corporate online systems at Guardian. "We're happy with the results achieved from implementing their mainframe product, and expect similar gains in productivity and reduced time to market for our distributed applications." Guardian has already been using ChangeMan ZMF for its mainframe.

"Having a single point of control to manage change gives companies a powerful advantage in the marketplace when responding to current challenges and future opportunities," stated Evan Ellis, senior vice president of worldwide operations at Serena.
