Two Pioneer Wholesalers Jump to a Rival Firm

Two wholesaler spots have opened up at Pioneer Investments. Nino Balduzzi and Casey Dylan, both of whom covered the RIA channel for Pioneer, have left the firm last month and joined Todd Cassler's team at John Hancock Funds.

"We have a search underway," Pioneer spokesperson Geoff Smith told The MFWire.

Boston-based Balduzzi covered the Northeast for Pioneer and will be responsible for the same region at Hancock. Dylan, also based out of Boston, covered the South Central region for Pioneer and will be responsible for the Southeast at Hancock.

Dylan joined Hancock Funds' RIA sales team on March 15 and Balduzzi joined March 29. Both take on new posts, reporting to Cassler, head of institutional sales.

The hirings are "part of an effort to capitalize on the tremendous growth in opportunities in the RIA space," Cassler said in an interview.

Hancock now has a total of three external wholesalers whose efforts are supported three internals. The other external wholesaler is Chris Johnson, who joined Hancock from Fidelity at the end of 2008.

Hancock is not done building out its RIA sales force. The firm is looking for a wholesaler to cover the Midwest, Cassler said.
