SEC Hangs a 'We're Hiring' Sign

Beantown-based fundsters that are harboring ambitions of working at the Securities and Exchange Commission would be delighted to learn that the SEC is, in fact, looking to add people in its Boston office. The Boston Herald reports that the SEC is adding 15 to the office, which currently has a staff of 120.

The Herald notes that one of the job openings listed on the SEC site details a search for an "asset management specialist," a post that entails at least seven years of experience at a mutual fund, hedge fund or private equity firm. That post pays as much as $210,232 yearly.

The SEC is looking to hire a total of 150 people across the nation in its enforcement unit.
