Old Mutual Execs Woo Reporters


Asset managers continue to gather reporters to share their investment strategies with the broader world. This morning Old Mutual Asset Management president and CEO Tom Turpin hosted a press breakfast, at the Algonquin Hotel in midtown Manhattan, featuring investment gurus from Barrow Hanley, Mewhinney & Strauss, Dwight Asset Management, Heitman, Larch Lane Advisors and OMCAP Investors.

Other top Old Mutual execs, including sales and marketing chief Matthew Appelstein, also attended the event.

The speakers included: Old Mutual Focused Fund PM Jerome Heppelmann, Barrow Hanley, Mewhinney & Strauss international value equity PM David Hodges, Larch Lane CEO Mark Jurish, Dwight chief investment officer Frank Koster and Heitman CEO Maury Tognarelli. They weighed in on topics such as emerging market investment premiums, fixed income volatility, large cap stocks, sovereign debt, the real estate market and possible hedge fund regulations, among others.

According to a spokeswoman for Old Mutual, 31 members of the media attended the briefing.
