Viking to Shutter its Large-Cap Fund


Viking Mutual Funds' [see profile] board plans to shut down the Viking Large-Cap Value Fund in November, pointing to the "low asset level, performance, unprofitability and challenges in marketing the fund." [SEC filing]

Effective today, the fund's shares are no longer available for purchase. The fund will close on or about November 19.

The fund has $2.6 million of assets and carries a two-star rating from Morningstar.

The liquidation will leave the Integrity Viking fund family will 13 funds.

No other fund closures are planned, Viking Fund Management president Shannon Radke told The MFWire.com.
