Fiserv Names COO

Fiserv has named Norm Balthasar as its new chief operating officer and senior executive vice president. He newly created duties will include the oversight of four newly created operating groups. He had been president and chief operating officer of the Fiserv Financial Institution Group.

Leslie M. Muma, president and chief executive officer, said the changes will enable Fiserv to continue to grow. Muma added that Fiserv has promoted four division presidents to head up the new operating units.

"These moves help to set the stage for the future," Muma said. "Norm has demonstrated outstanding skills in leading our largest group through some significant growth and is uniquely qualified to be our Chief Operating Officer. His promotion also gives us the opportunity to elevate five exceptional leaders to positions of more responsibility."

The newly promoted heads of the operating units are:

  • Rodney Poskochil, president of the Bank Systems and eProducts Group;
  • Pat Foy, president of the Bank Servicing Group;
  • James Puzniak, president of the Lending Systems and Services Group;
  • Ken Acheson, president of the Item Processing Group; and
  • Doug Craft, senior vice president and group chief financial officer.
