Ex-WaMu Duo Starts a Subadvisor

Fundsters interested in the former Washington Mutual mutual fund business may want to take a look at Bloomberg. Yesterday Lisa Abramowicz reported that two WM Advisors alums just launched a new mutual fund subadvisory firm, Strategic Income Management, in Seattle. The new firm is prepping products for American Beacon [see profile] and First Trust [see profile].

Wamu sold WM Advisors to Principal Financial Group in 2006. Gary Pokrzywinski and Randall Yoakum, co-founders of SIM, most recently served as chief investment officer and chief investment strategist, respectively, for Principal's Edge Asset Management. They specialize in asset allocation and high yield fixed income.
