US Trust Names New CEO

U.S. Trust, a subsidiary of Charles Schwab, appointed Alan J. Weber as chief executive officer to succeed Jeffrey S. Maurer, who will step into the role of chairman of Schwab's Affluent Client Strategy and Policy Committee, according to a company release.

"Alan brings a breadth of experience that will help us as we position U.S. Trust for its next cycle of growth," said David Pottruck, Schwab's president and co-CEO, in the release.

Weber, who will report to Pottruck, was formerly vice chairman and chief financial officer at Aetna and was responsible for capital management, information technology, investor relations, ebusiness and financial operations, according to the release.
