Monday, March 28, 2011 Bill Gross Preps 300 'Brain Scans' Pimco [see profile] is looking to add 300 staffers globally this year as it preps new stock funds and a new headquarters in Newport Center, the Orange County Business Journal reports. The hiring would bring its total to nearly 1,800 employees. Pimco is opening a brokerage in New York as it takes over the selling of its mutual funds from German parent Allianz SE. It’s expected to take on 170 employees from Allianz in the move. The firm IS also reportedly prepping a 380,000-square-foot headquarters built near the Island Hotel Newport Beach.
