Matthews International Capital Management [see profile], the San Francisco-based mutual fund firm that specializes in investments in the Asian region, has named its first ever chief financial officer. Matthews hired David Hartley, previously chief accounting officer at Invesco for the post. Hartley started at Matthews on May 9 and reports to CEO Bill Hackett.

"As Matthews seeks to expand its global footprint, I am confident that David's broad financial experience and global expertise will serve the firm well," Hackett said in a press release on Tuesday.

Rod Ellis took on Hartley's former duties at Invesco, said company spokesman Bill Hensel.

Hartley started his career with Big Four firm KPMG in 1982. In 1991, he joined Invesco, where his roles included serving as chief financial officer of the institutional and global divisions.
