CIGNA Names New CIO

CIGNA has named David P. Marks chief investment officer and promoted Daniel Sigg to the position of president at TimesSquare Capital Management.

Marks will have executive management responsibility for all of CIGNA's investment management businesses, operations and functions. He will report to John Y. Kim, president of CIGNA Retirement & Investment Services.

In his new role, Sigg will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of TimesSquare and report to Marks. Previously, he served as TimesSquare's managing director and chief operating officer. TimesSquare, CIGNA's independently branded institutional investment management subsidiary.

"David's credentials extend beyond his investment management expertise. He has a strong service orientation and a reputation in the industry for being resourceful and innovative in identifying and addressing client needs and expectations," Kim said. "We're pleased to be able to bring an individual of David's caliber on board to lead CIGNA's investment operations and to have Daniel in place to manage the day-to-day business at TimesSquare."

Marks, who held senior management positions at CIGNA companies throughout the 1980s, returns to CIGNA after building a track record of success elsewhere in the investment management arena. Most recently, he was a partner in Green Mountain Partners, a Vermont-based firm that made acquisitions of companies across the US.
