William Blair Debuts a Multi-PM Fund


William Blair & Company [profile] just launched a long-short mutual fund. Banking and Business Review reported on the Chicago-based mutual fund shop's new offering.

Michelle Seitz, head of investment management and an executive committee member at William Blair, described the new offering as a way "to extract value from a wide variety of opportunities in the commodities markets."

"The William Blair Commodity Strategy Long/Short Fund is structured as a diverse portfolio which maintains the ability to profit in both up and down commodity markets," Seitz said.

The multi-manager fund will be PMed by John Abunassar, Peter Carl, Toby Elliman, Christopher Walvoord, and Brian Ziv. It will provide exposure to between six and 15 strategies.
