Growth PMs Resist Apple's Allure at Their Peril

Apple's surging stock price and huge spot in some indexes is putting some PMs in a tough position. Mark Jewell of the Associated Press reports on the importance of Apple in large cap growth portfolios and the indexes they track.

Jewell writes that PMs who currently underweight Apple are paying the performance price by lagging their peers. Pax World Growth Fund [profile] PM Tony Trzcinka and Loomis Sayles Growth Fund [profile] PM Aziz Hamzaogullari both weighed in for the article. Pax World Growth is up 12.5 percent year-to-date and Loomis Sayles Growth is up 11.7 percent.
