UBS Lands JP Morgan Vet as Sales Head


Frank P. Pfeffer is the new head of UBS Global Asset Management sales and marketing efforts. Pfeffer joins the asset manager from JP Morgan Fleming Asset Management and takes the title of managing director and head of Institutional Business Development and Marketing, Americas and reports to Brian Storms, president and chief executive officer.

He is responsible for the increased emphasis on the firm's institutional asset management business in the U.S., and will also serve on the UBS Global Asset Management Americas Operating Committee.

"As the new head of business development and marketing, Frank Pfeffer will play a major role in guiding and managing our growth as we move forward," said Storms in a statement. "Frank has extensive experience working with both institutional clients and the consultant community. Hiring Frank onto the team underscores our commitment to forming strong partnerships with current and future clients."

Pfeffer had been a sales and marketing executive at J.P. Morgan Fleming Asset Management since 1990. Prior to J. P. Morgan, he held sales and investment positions at Wilshire Associates and Manufacturers Hanover Investment Corporation.

Separately, NYLIM Retirement Plan Services said it has hired Gary Jackson for as its new managing director of sales. Jackson was most recently a member of UBS Global Asset Management institutional sales team. Officials at UBS were not available for immediate comment on how Jackson's duties there will be filled. At NYLIM he replaced Peter Rooney at and will oversee all of the insurer's retirement plan sales force. Rooney left the firm to pursue other interests.
