NYT Scrutinizes the Rogers-Obama Relationship

John Rogers is seeing his friendship with president Barack Obama making waves again, this time in a lengthy write-up in the New York Times.

The Gray Lady focused not on the Ariel Funds [profile] president's support and fundraising for the president, which has been covered by MFWire in the past, but on Rogers' place on the board of Illinois-based energy company Exelon Corporation.

According to NYTimes reporter Eric Lipton's article, Exelon has had several meetings with the Obama administration and was one of six electric companies to get a $200 million stimulus.

A spokesman for Rogers told the Times that the fund exec hadn't contacted the president on behalf of Exelon.
