WSJ Tells Investors How to Pick A PM

Listen up, PMs: The Wall Street Journal is giving investors advice on how to judge you, so be on the lookout.

Over the weekend the Journal published an article telling readers how to "find a fund manager who can beat the market," noting that 65 percent of large-capitalization core stock funds failed to beat the S&P 500 last year, and only 10 percent of US stock funds outperformed benchmarks in both 2011 and 2012.

So, how does Journal writer Joe Light think investors should go about picking their poison?

First, it says to look at fees. Then, it notes that people should find a PM who is actually trying to beat a benchmark.

For more details on how savvy readers will be judging you, check out the original article.
