A Mutual Fund Shop Prices its IPO at $322MM

Today Artisan set a price range for its initial public offering: 11.5 million shares at a price range of $27 to $29 per share. Watch for the Midwestern mutual fund shop to IPO soon.

That prices the total IPO at $322 million, according to Renaissance Capital, valuing all of Artisan at $1.86 billion.

Meanwhile, according to Artisan's SEC filing, all the stocks offered will be Class A common stock.

The pricing comes slightly more than four weeks after the company refiled for the IPO with the SEC.

The underwriters for the offering remain Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, BofA Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, and Scotiabank.

The pricing is the latest step in a circuitous two-year long process to public offering. The $322 million price is also a significant increase from the $250 million initially bandied about in previous filings.

Meanwhile, last fall, the firm significantly boosted its presence in New York.
