Most of You Had a Bad June — Even You, Vanguard


June was a rough month for mutual funds, according to Morningstar data.
The total outflows for the month were $47.3 billion for all long-term funds, the worst month since October 2008.
This leaves the quarter-to-date flows at $26.5 billion, and the year-to-date flows at $215.2 billion.
Pimco [profile] had the worst outflows of any firm with $14.5 billion. Second was Fidelity [profile] with $5.1 billion. According to the news release, Vanguard [profile] saw its first month of outflows — including ETFs and money market funds —in nearly 20 years.
On the good side of things, MFS [profile] had the best inflows with $1.4 billion.
