Barrons' Grace Williams profiled Chris Wallis, co-PM of Natixis [profile] Vaughan Nelson Value Opportunity Fund, who is looking for sweet high returns, whatever the market brings.

Wallis' team, which includes co-managers, Dennis Alf and Scott Weber, only take positions in companies they believe can return an annualized 15 percent over a three year period, Williams writes. The fund has had returns of 26.95 year to date, outperforming the iShares Russell Mid-Cap Value ETF.

On where the market is headed, Williams quoted Wallis as saying, "We've gotten to the point in the market where the economy and multiples have recovered. Williams also noted that Wallis "took on a bear out in the woods and won." Despite the implied promise of a bear story, there is no bear story.
