Tuesday, September 17, 2013 Deloitte Hires a Fund Researcher The Big Four continues its path towards embracing the mutual fund space. For example, Deloitte Services has recently hired J. Lynette DeWitt as a research manager for mutual funds, hedge funds and private equity. Her responsibilities include research trends in the asset management industry. DeWitt has research experience at a number of other firms. She most recently served as director - research at Analytics4Action. Before that, she served as research director - new product and business development at Boston Financial Data Services, and before that, as research director -- sub-advisory/lifecycle funds at Financial Research Corporation. This is just the latest example of a growing trend by Big Four firms to gain expertise in the mutual fund industry in order to provide consulting services to fundsters. For example, Ernst & Young searched for a a dozen such experts in March. Meanwhile, PricewaterhouseCoopers expressed a a similar appetite in October 2012.
