Monday, February 3, 2014 M* Lures a Mutual Fund Reporter A mutual fund trade reporter just joined Morningstar. A spokeswoman for the Chicago-based mutual fund ratings giant confirmed that Jason Kephart joined on Monday as a fund analyst for the alternative funds research group. He previously reported on mutual funds and ETFs for advisor-focused trade publication InvestmentNews, and the pub is now searching for his successor. At Morningstar Kephart reports to Josh Charlson, director of alternative strategy research. Kephart is filling the shoes of Mallory Horejs, who left Morningstar. An English major hailing from Florida State University, Kephart reported for SmartMoney Magazine and Fund Action before joining InvestmentNews two years ago.
