New Janus CEO Salary Pegged at $600,000

Mark Whiston, the CEO of Janus Capital since January, will receive a salary of $600,000 this year, according to a regulatory filing on Monday, said a recent Reuters report. Whiston, will also get an annual bonus tied to the performance of the company and its funds. Loren Starr, the CFO, will receive an annual salary of $425,000, according to the proxy filing.

The $600,000 salary falls short of the amount paid in recent years to Landon Rowland, Stilwell's former CEO, and is also less than the 2001 and 2000 salaries paid to Thomas Bailey, the founder of Janus who stepped down last July.
