Sapir Strikes Gold With His Latest ProShares Hire

Michael Sapir just filled a key ProShares [profile] post with a TIAA-CREF alum.

Yesterday Sapir confirmed the addition of Morgan Gold to the Bethesda, Maryland-based ETF shop's team as managing director and head of marketing. Gold reports to Sapir, ProShares' chairman and CEO.

Gold most recently hails from TIAA-CREF, where he lead global brand and advertising as a vice president. A spokesman for TIAA-CREF was not able to comment on how Gold's duties are being handled.

Tucker Hewes, a spokesman for ProShares, confirms that prior to Gold joining Steve Cohen, managing director and head of strategy for ProShares, spent the past two years leading marketing on an interim basis. Cohen continues to serve as managing director and head of strategy.

Sapir lauds Gold's "proven track record of leading strong brands." Gold previously worked with the Hartford, and he's an alum of Tufts.
