The ex-Beatles superstar took the stage this afternoon at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City's Lincoln Center as a surprise guest for the 2014 Baron Investment Conference. Every year Baron Funds [profile] and Baron Capital Group CEO Ron Baron gathers Baron Funds shareholders to hear from himself, from executives at Baron Funds portfolio companies, and from PMs at Baron Funds. The billionaire fundster pays for the conference himself, and each year he brings out big celebrities as surprise guests.

Earlier today, the surprise entertainers at lunch included soul and R&B singer Janelle Monae, country star Carrie Underwood, and current Broadway star Vanessa Williams.

Ron Baron himself was slated to speak this afternoon right before McCartney performed.
