White Names Champ's (Acting) Successor

Mary Jo White has found the new Norm Champ, at least for now.

Yesterday White named David Grim acting director of the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) investment management division. Grim succeeds Champ, who left last month after five years with the regulatory agency (including more than two atop the division).

White, the SEC's chair, confirms that Grim has worked "for nearly 20 years in the Division of Investment Management." For the past two years he has served as the division's deputy director. He joined in 1995 as a staff attorney in the office of investment company regulation. He's an alumnus of Duke University and George Washington University.
