The Media Tackles Fiduciary Redefinition

A host of journalists have already weighed in on the Obama administration's proposed 401(k) regulation.

The reg, revealed Tuesday afternoon by U.S. Secretary of Labor Tom Perez and key Obama advisor Jeff Zients, would expand the scope of the "fiduciary" definition under ERISA, the 41-year-old federal law that governs qualified retirement plans like 401(k)s. The proposal would impact the IRA business, too.
