Ivy Evaluates Options As a Key Distro Exec Departs

One of the top distribution executives at Ivy Funds [profile] is moving on.

Kirsten Pickens
MFWire has learned that Kirsten Pickens, formerly senior vice president and head of national accounts and retirement sales at the Waddell & Reed subsidiary, left the Midwestern mutual fund shop earlier this month. Word on the street is that Pickens is heading into a similar role elsewhere.

MFWire could not immediately reach Ivy Funds Distributor president and CEO Tom Butch for comment on Pickens' departure. Butch also serves as executive vice president and chief marketing officer for all of Waddell & Reed.

"We have a deep, established sales team in place and are evaluating options at this point," Ivy Funds spokesman Roger Hoadley told MFWire in an e-mailed statement.

Pickens declined to comment on where she's heading next.

An alumnus of Arizona State University, Pickens worked at Ivy for 12 years. Prior to that she worked in at ING Funds (now Voya) and J&W Seligman (now part of Columbia Threadneedle).
