Nachmany Shifts As a Cerulli Bigwig Joins Strategic Insight's Parent

Avi Nachmany's role at Strategic Insight is changing, even as a former Cerulli bigwig joins the mutual fund data specialist's parent company.

Joel Mandelbaum, the freshly-appointed CEO of and new investor in New York City-based Asset International, confirms that Nachmany now serves as senior adviser to Strategic Insight. Mandelbaum also confirms the hiring of Andy Guillette as chief data and research officer and global product manager at Asset International. Mandelbaum also made a host of other appointments.

MFWire could not immediately reach Nachmany or Guillette for comment on the changes.

Guillette spent 20 years at Boston-based research shop Cerulli Associates, most recently as chief operating officer. MFWire could not immediately reach Cerulli founder and CEO Kurt Cerulli for comment on Guillette's departure.

An alumnus of Tel Aviv University and NYU, Nachmany co-founded Strategic Insight nearly 30 years ago. He most recently served as executive vice president and director of research. Asset International, then-backed by private equity firm Austin Ventures, bought Strategic Insight six years ago. Then last year another private equity firm, Genstar Capital, bought Asset International (including Strategic Insight) from Austin Ventures.

An alumnus of College of the Holy Cross and Boston College, Guillette worked at Fidelity, Hancock, and Columbia before joining Cerulli 20 years ago.

The shift for Nachmany and the hiring of Guillette are just two of Mandelbaum's recent appointments at Asset International. The others include: new hire Leonie Alsop as director of global marketing; new hire Terry Beadle as chief revenue officer; new hire Seth Cohen as senior advisor to the executive committee; new hire Garry Hodnett as director of human capital; The Trade (another Asset International unit, a publication in London) founder John Lee as adviser to Global Custodian (another Asset International publication); new hire Allison Joy Phillips as executive assistant to Mandelbaum; and new hire Tony White as chief content officer and global product manager. Beadle, Guillette, and White are all joining the Asset International executive committee, too.
