Is There a New Winner of the "Most Famous Spouse in the Mutual Fund Industry" Award?

Step aside, George Lucas. You may no longer be the most famous spouse in the mutual fund industry.

Olivier Sarkozy
TCW, The Carlyle Group
Managing Director
Lindsay Putnam of the New York Post's "Page Six" reports that on Friday night TCW [profile] backer and board member Olivier Sarkozy married actress and fashion mogul Mary-Kate Olsen in New York City. The reception was in Midtown Manhattan and, per one unnamed Post source, featured "bowls and bowls filled with cigarettes."

Sarkozy got involved with Los Angeles-based TCW only three months after word leaked of him dating Olsen. The Post previously reported that Olsen and Sarkozy started dating in May 2012. Then in August 2012 Carlyle swept in to buy TCW; Sarkozy, head of the global financial services group at Carlyle, was the architect of that deal, which closed in February 2013. He now sits on TCW's board.

Olsen isn't Sarkozy's first famous family member; his half-brother Nicholas is the former president of France.

News of the weekend wedding has spread like wildfire. The nuptials so far have been covered by: Cosmopolitan, the Daily Mail, E!, Entertainment Weekly, the Hollywood Reporter, the New York Daily News, New York Magazine, Newsday, the Telegraph, and US Weekly.
