Nothing is official just yet. Last month the Boston Business Journal reported that the mutual fund shop close making a decision on moving its headquarters within downtown Beantown, and now the paper reports that it looks like real estate investment trust Boston Properties just confirmed that rumor by including Putnam's logo in a design review presentation at City Hall about plans for the building at 100 Federal Street.

The BBJ describes 100 Federal Street as "within view of Post Office Square in the heart of Boston's Financial District." Putnam's HQ has been at 1 Post Office Square since 1981.

100 Federal is a 37-story, 1.3-million-square-foot office building whose flagship tenant is Bank of America. Putnam is reportedly considering a lease for 275,000 square feet, which translates into a little more than 21 percent of the building's office space.
