A mutual fund boutique in North Carolina is gaining local and national media attention for its strong performance.

U.S. News & World Report, in its "best mutual funds" list, ranks the Queens Road Small Cap Value Fund [profile] as the number one "best fit small value" fund around. And the Charlotte Business Journal picked up on the U.S. News praise.

Charlotte-based Bragg Financial Advisors is a 50-year-old financial planning shop run by Benton Bragg, John Bragg, and Phillips Bragg, sons of founder Frank Bragg. Steve Scruggs, son-in-law to that same founder, runs' Bragg Financial Advisors' Queens Road Funds business. The five-star Queens Road Small Cap Value Fund has $120.4 million in AUM, while the four-star Queens Road Value Fund has $38.4 million in AUM. The two funds launched in 2002.

The firm now has 19 employees and more than $1.1 billion in assets.
