Neamtz's mission, per a statement from McLean, Virginia-based Vest, is to "spearhead Vest's expansion of its protection-oriented offerings into asset management with a product line up which includes Unit Investment Trusts (UITs), mutual funds, closed-end funds, and ETFs."

Neamtz previously worked with Realty Capital Securities, and prior to that he led distribution for Natixis, AIG's SunAmerica, and Virtus. He also previously led Convexcal Asset Management and Vest itself. He's an alumnus of Penn State.

Sood lauds Neamtz' "deep experience in bringing new funds to market and growing assets under management."

"Steve will help us build on the success we've already had as we build protection and outcome-oriented investing into a number of exciting investment vehicles in the coming months," Sood states.

CBOE unveiled its purchase of a majority stake in Vest back in January. Vest offers both "packaged products" and "technology solutions for options-based investments." Jeff Chang and Karan Sood founded Vest in 2012.
