Gallegos will be reporting to Camacho, global head of beta strategies. Camacho expresses his delight in Gallegos’ new role in a company press release.

“As we enter the next phase of growth in our ETF platform, we are thrilled to have someone with Joanna’s background and experience at the helm of our US business.”

Gallegos joined J.P. Morgan as head of ETF product development in 2013. Over the past four years, she has helped develop the firm’s US fund launches, which have included 13 product launches and over $1 billion in AUM. Before JP Morgan, Gallegos held a number of leadership positions at BlackRock iShares, where she worked for 14 years.

In his retirement, Deutsch will keep his role as chairman of JP Morgan’s ETF board. There are plans to replace Gallegos as head of ETF production development, but nothing has been announced yet.
