Gerstein Fisher Says Goodbye to a 401k Sales Vet

A 401(k) sales veteran is leaving Gerstein Fisher [profile].

Steve Frey, asset management advisor in the advisor solutions group at Gerstein Fisher, is moving on from the New York City-based, quantitative mutual fund shop, MFWire has learned, and joining a nearby roboadvisor-esque shop, Vestwell, that focuses on 401(k) plan advisors (KPAs). Our sister publication 401kWire broke the news about Frey's move.

Frey himself and Vestwell CEO Aaron Schumm confirmed the move. A spokesman for Gerstein Fisher did not immediately respond to inquiries.

Frey has worked with Gerstein Fisher since 2015 and is an alumnus of the University of Maryland College Park. Before joining Gerstein Fisher two and a half years ago, he worked as a regional retirement sales representative at Paychex and as a project manager at DataStream Content Solutions.
