The shareholder meeting for final approval is scheduled for December 14. ***
PMsRoger G. Young is retiring from Touchstone Securities’ Touchstone Premium Yield Equity Fund, effective September 30. This coincides with the end of Young’s tenure as PM at the Miller/Howard Income-Equity Fund and Howard Drill Bit to Burner Tip Fund, announced in October 2016. ***
RebrandingStarting October 2, Deutsche Global Growth VIP will be renamed Deutsche International Growth VIP. ***
SubadvisorsT. Rowe Price Associates, Inc. plans were approved this week by the board of the Optimum Large Cap Growth Fund to replace Fred Alger Management, Inc. as the sub-advisor to the fund with ClearBridge Investments, LLC. Peter Bourbeau and Margaret Vitrano will join the fund from the ClearBridge team, both serving as portfolio managers. The changeover is tentatively set for early October. The Wells Fargo Alternative Strategies Fund is dropping Pine River Capital Management L.P. as a sub-advisor to the fund. The change is effective on or about November 23, possibly earlier. No replacement has been named. ***
LaunchingPowerShares registered a new fund on September 15, calling it PowerShares PureBetaSM US Aggregate Bond Portfolio. Invesco PowerShares Capital Management LLC is advising the fund, bringing with it a PM team. Peter Hubbard is serving as director of portfolio management, Jeffery W. Kermagis as senior PM, and Philip Fang, Gary Jones, and Richard Ose as PMs. ***
