An 11-Year Gemini Vet Returns

After nine months outside the asset management industry, an 11-year Gemini Fund Services vet has returned.

James Ash rejoined the mutual fund back-office shop last month in the newly created role of senior vice president of national sales, confirms Alma Piscitello, executive vice president of strategic advisor services. Ash now reports to Bill Wostoupal, president of Gemini sibling Northern Lights Distributors and executive vice president of sales for Gemini parent NorthStar Financial Services Group.

"James' knowledge of product development, fund structuring and the regulatory landscape adds expertise to new fund creation and fund conversions," Piscitello tells MFWire.

Ash, based in the Charlotte, North Carolina area, spent much of 2017 as area sales manager for Cynosure, a medical technology company that was acquired by another such company back in March. Before joining Cynosure, Ash worked at Gemini for more than 11 years, rising to senior vice president and director of legal administration in 2012.

Ash is an alumnus of both SUNY Stony Brook and Hofstra University's law school.
