Ashmore Investment Management
Head of U.S. Intermediary Distribution
Steve Rudman joined Ashmore Investment Management [profile] last month as head of U.S. intermediary distribution, MFWire has learned. Rudman's predecessor, global and U.S. head head of intermediary distribution Ted Smith, shifted last month to business development on the institutional side of Ashmore's business. Rudman, based in Ashmore's U.S. headquarters in New York City, reports to Hofmann, global head of distribution.

Rudman declined to comment.

An alumnus of UMass Amherts's Isenberg School of Management, Rudman previously served as head of third party retail distribution at UBS Asset Management before leaving in June. Prior to that he worked at Direxion, Pimco, and Eaton Vance. He started out as a retail financial advisor.

Smith, an alumnus of Duke University and of UCLA's School of Law, first joined Ashmore in 2011. Prior to that he worked at Delaware, Folio, Latham & Watkins, and Sector Capital Management.
