Ex-Dreyfus EVP Joins Black Diamond

Randy Lierman has joined Ft. Lauderdale, Florida-based Black Diamond Asset Management as its head of product development. Lierman, who was most recently an executive vice president of national sales at Dreyfus Investments, will oversee U.S. sales distribution and marketing for the Black Diamond funds.

He takes the title of managing partner at the firm and joins its board of directors.

Lierman worked in Dreyfus' New York City office covering national sales for the fund complexes broker-dealer division. Prior to that he headed sales of the financial institutions division. Before his six-year stint at Dreyfus, Lierman spent five years at J&W Seligman Financial Services in New York.

"Randy's proven track record and respect in the mutual fund industry will prove invaluable as we continue to grow our core fund business and expand our product offerings", stated Larry Schweiger, chairman & CEO of Black Diamond Asset Management.

One of Lierman's tasks will be to build distribution for Black Diamonds family of actively capital protection funds that use alternative investments to create absolute returns while limiting the potential for losses. The firm launched the second of these funds on September 2, 2003 (its offering period ends on October 31).
