Monday, October 6, 2003 Russell Buys FT Interactive Unit Russell/Mellon Analytical Services picked up new index distribution capability from FT Interactive Data. The deal brings the Tacoma, Washington-based unit of Russell data collection, reconciliation, formatting and distribution capabilities for third-party benchmark info. The unit claims 27 European asset managers as clients. The Edinburgh-based unit of FT Interactive will become part of Russell/Mellon CAPS. Additional terms of the deal were not disclosed. "Providing daily benchmarks is an extension of our worldwide business capability and is consistent with our long-term strategy to enhance our products and our clients' performance systems," said Bill Pryor, chief executive officer of Russell/Mellon Analytical Services.
