The investments chief at a big independent broker-dealer is leaving and taking a job with another side of the firm's parent company.

Karen Roxanna McColl
MassMutual
Head of Defined Benefit
Boston-based Karen McColl, head of investment management at MML Investors Services, has been appointed head of defined benefit services at MassMutual, confirms Keith McDonagh, head of institutional solutions at MassMutual. (MML is part of MassMutual, a big insurance company and retirement plan provider that also has a multi-manager mutual fund business.)

A MassMutual spokesperson was not immediately able to comment on who will now lead investment management at MML.

McColl joined MML in 2018. Prior to that she worked with Fidelity, Evergreen, Columbia, BBH, and Wellington. She is an alumna of MIT and of Boston University.

MML now has more than 8,000 advisors and more than $200 billion in AUM.
