John Starnes, wholesaler at Concord, California-based AssetMark, has left the company, MFWire has learned. Starnes was responsible for the southern Florida region, covering metropolitan areas such as Miami and Fort Lauderdale. A spokesperson for AssetMark declined to comment beyond confirming that Starnes left the company earlier this month. Starnes recently posted, "After eight years with AssetMark, it's time to move on to my next opportunity. It has been a tremendous professional adventure and I'm proud to have been part of the success, helping grow the firm into a market leader and watch it go public on the NYSE (AMK)." He goes on to thank his colleagues and offers to connect with new faces on- or offline. As of right now, Starnes' LinkedIn profile notes that he is open to work. Prior to his work at AssetMark, he served as regional vice president for ICON Advisers from 2005 to 2012. Before that, he was with the Mutual Service Corporation as senior marketing consultant for two years. Starnes is an alumnus of Valdosta State University.
