After 18 Years, a Director Exits AllianzGI

After 18 years with the company, an Allianz Global Investors [profile] veteran is moving on.

Thomas Harter left AllianzGI last month "to pursue other opportunities," a company spokesperson confirmed. Harter (based in Newport Beach, California, hometown of AllianzGI sibling Pimco) most recently served as director and chief compliance officer for AllianzGI funds.

Paul Koo, director and chief compliance officer at AllianzGI, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

News of Harter's departure comes a couple months after AllianzGI finalized the planned sale of its U.S. retail business, a deal that included open-end funds, closed-end funds, and retail SMAs.

Harter spent more than five years at PwC before joining AllianzGI in 2003. Since then, he has served in a variety of compliance roles, rising in 2013 to CCO of the funds. He is an alumnus of Boston University and of Loyola Marymount University.
